Oboje należą do czworga twórców „Nie chcemy innej ziemi” („No Other Land”), jednego z najgłośniejszych dokumentów ostatnich lat, nagrodzonego w 2025 roku Oscarem dla najlepszego pełnometrażowego filmu dokumentalnego.

„NAZA” wyrasta z ponad trzech lat pracy dziennikarskiej i śledczej.

O technologii, odpowiedzialności i granicach posłuszeństwa.

At night, on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, far from official statements and cameras, former and current members of the Israeli military establishment speak about the systems they themselves helped create and operate. Their testimonies reveal the mechanisms behind decisions that lead to the mass killing of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip — from procedures and technologies to the ways in which responsibility for human lives becomes dispersed among people, data and algorithms.

The film is directed by Yuval Abraham, a filmmaker and investigative journalist, and Rachel Szor, a director and cinematographer. Both are among the four filmmakers behind No Other Land, one of the most widely discussed documentaries of recent years, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film in 2025.

NAZA is the result of more than three years of journalistic and investigative work. Many of the findings uncovered during the making of the film were published as the investigation progressed by The Guardian, in collaboration with the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine and Local Call. The Guardian is also one of the film's producers, highlighting its distinctive combination of documentary filmmaking and investigative journalism.

The film's executive producer is Jonathan Glazer, an Academy Award winner for The Zone of Interest. Glazer's involvement in NAZA provides an additional context for the film, which, much like The Zone of Interest, examines the mechanisms of violence from the perspective of people operating within the system, while its victims remain largely outside the frame.

In NAZA, Abraham and Szor turn their attention to those working within the Israeli military system, seeking to understand not only the consequences of war but also the mechanisms that make its conduct possible. The film is based on interviews with 24 Israeli intelligence officers and soldiers, whose testimonies collectively reveal a system in which decisions concerning civilian lives become embedded in military and technological procedures.

The film had its World Premiere in the Main Competition at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize. The international press highlighted the film's uncompromising approach and the power of testimonies from individuals speaking from within the system.

NAZA is a harrowing documentary about war seen not from the battlefield, but from the places where decisions are made. About technology, responsibility and the limits of obedience. About what happens when violence becomes a procedure, and decisions over human lives become part of a system.
