“Animation at the Academy” during the Animocje Festival in Bydgoszcz (2026)
“Animation at the Academy” is an open, regular event integrating the community of researchers and practitioners of film animation. The third edition of the meeting will take place on 24 April 2026 in Bydgoszcz, during the 15th International Animated Film Festival Animocje. The meeting combines the features of a seminar and a networking session. Its aim is to exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas, as well as to initiate cooperation between people working with film animation in various academic and artistic contexts.
Who can participate?
We especially invite:
- academics,
- students,
- researchers,
- animation practitioners,
- organisers of animation-related events,
- journalists,
- museum curators.
What will it look like?
Each participant will have a five-minute slot to present their research, publications, projects, resources, practices or research questions. The presentation part will be followed by a networking session, conducive to building relationships, partnerships, and joint initiatives. The event is distinguished by its concise and dynamic presentation format, which allows for the convergence of many perspectives and topics and the active involvement of participants.
Where will we meet?
“Animation at the Academy” is to take place at the New Campus of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (Godziszewskiego Str. 1), on April 24th, 2026, from 12 to 3 pm, in the Film Studio (Room U.158 on level -1). Admission to the event is free.

Applications must be submitted in English. The number of slots is limited to 20 people. The order of application is decisive. The organisers reserve the right to select entries.
Once your application has been approved, please send a single slide containing the information necessary to conduct the presentation. Please send files in .pdf or .png format. The deadline for submitting slides is April 22nd, 11:59 pm.
